Lollygagging

Poetic Ghetto, 2012. Oil, gouache and pencil on clay board, 18 x 24 inches.

Yeah, so it’s been a little while since I’ve posted anything again. Let’s face it. I’m just busy, even when I’m lollygagging. I’m never really dilly-dallying. I just think I am. I am always working. When I think something isn’t work, it really is work. It’s all work. It’s all part of it. It’s all the same. All roads lead to the same shit. And today I’m waiting for a new keyboard because this one is taking a dump. Some letters keep skipping and I have to keep going back and correcting all the spelling, even on the simplest words. Typing seems to be taking three times longer. The new keyboard should be arriving this afternoon.

I Feel A Change Comin’ On

Since I’ve been clogged, I’ve had my face smooshed against my computer monitor trying to carefully correct all the mistakes in my damn book, Shrapnel in the San Fernando Valley; I’m so incredibly embarrassed by the plethora of flaws that were there. My gawd! That’s what no sleep gets you.

Die with the Buffalo

Anyone who knows me knows I have a strange love for the high desert. I say strange only because many people may not see why something so hot and “barren” can be so beloved. To them I say they either haven’t spent the right kind of time there, or they’re probably already at peace with themselves.

So How Was Your Last Weekend?

Maybe you’re wondering how mine went since Saturday was probably one of the most important days ever. Well, the verdict is in and according to the jury (the many little birdies and forest animals that surround me and follow me wherever I go), it went fantastic! The whole night played out beyond my expectations, even though I really didn’t have any expectations. Honestly, I just wanted to get through it. Which I did. It wasn’t as torturous as I thought it would be either, probably because I felt so incredibly supported.

Look Ma, I’m in the Newspaper!

Woop woop! Today I am featured in the LA WEEKLY! No April foolin’ around. Maybe it’s not April Fool’s Day at all. For me, it’s Lucky Day! I mean it must be since I’m fortunate enough to be part of Shana Ny Dambrot’s “Meet the Artist” series. Someone must’ve hit me over the head with a horseshoe when I wasn’t looking. That might explain a lot of other stuff not related to luck at all.
