This is the only picture I have of a cow. It’s a detail from a painting I did long ago.

It’s not even a real cow. I mean, that’s obvious. It’s of a toy from a 1970s Fisher Price Little People Farm. I used to play with it non-stop when I was a kid. My brother and I created a whole town of Fisher Price buildings, combined them with cardboard, and had shoot-em-up wars between the barnyard animals and little plastic Army men. We pretty much threw all the Fisher Price Little People away. We only worked the animals because they had moving limbs.

Here’s the painting. We called the game, “Woofer” because the dog was the leader and mastermind…

Anyway, I so digress.

I was wowing and “holy cowing” because I woke up this morning and got a magnificent email about a spectacular review I got on Author Anthony Avina’s blog. I can’t fucking believe how good it is. A 10 out of 10 and such amazing words from Anthony, I don’t even know what to say.

I was going to promote my blog post from yesterday, but now I have something even more stupendous to yell out about.  Of course, I’d love to get you to read both.

Lots of supportive reviews lately and I don’t know how to react. I didn’t get much positive feedback at first.  I didn’t care about that too much. I mean, I felt a little disappointed that I wasn’t reaching more people to get more reactions because I knew my audience/readers are a narrow bunch, and I suppose I thought I couldn’t write as well as I thought. These recent reviews have been super wonderful, yet I still don’t want to get too excited, ya know? I know it’s not going to be that way all the way down the line, but I am starting to see that there are beautiful things to focus on, and I can’t ask for more than that.

Feeling grateful and happy.
