About This Artwork: I painted this as I realized that I had been in a cult for many years. I never knew it was a cult when I was in. I just thought I had all the answers, and during the time I had joined, it helped me survive on my own as a young person out in the world. I joined the group before I was even a teenager. It made me believe I was made of steel, but it gave me a false idea of what I was.

In the end I am much more human. I painted this during the transition, knowing I would survive the rest of my life without all those "answers." Now, I find my own answers and life is good.
