About This Artwork: 140 pattern pieces (sleeves) were first sewn at the edges, before applied and painted over. This is the first large-scale piece I ever did. The composition came to me in a dream. The writing underneath, which is hardly legible, is a blow-by-blow description of my rape at 11 years old. I turned this memory into something beautiful, see?
