About This Artwork: This piece took a while to do because each little sleeve pattern shape was stitched to the canvas by hand, as all of my garment pattern paintings are. This one in particular was very time-consuming. They reminded me of little fish swimming in the water. This whole painting came to me spontaneously. It became a find of self-portrait--the shark on top, yet I see myself as a fool. Yet, something inside me feels powerful even though I don't have any self-esteem. I see myself as an idiot, but I see myself as the king of the world. This is what being bipolar is about I suppose.
