About This Artwork: One of my tributes to Rosalyn Franklin, the scientist that discovered the DNA sequence known as the double helix through the use of defractional x-rays. However, the credit for this discovery was attributed to two male scientists and still is to this day. Only recently has Franklin been recognized for her efforts, and only partially as a contributor, but the work and discovery of the double helix was hers and hers alone. She died of cervical and ovarian cancer caused by the mass amounts of x-rays she did during her research.
