About This Artwork: This is one of my "Rock and Refuge" pieces inspired by the residential architecture near the natural boulders along the Joshua Tree National Park border. For me, this area is a kind of refuge, a place of freedom as well as meditation. I have referred to it as a kind of Deadwood town where unique exteriors are built seemingly without codes or restrictions where huge, precarious rocks seem to balance in mid-air.
