About This Artwork: The collage is a combination of gathered computer clip art and newspaper clippings. I decided to do a whole series of characters of popular culture (real or invented) that were icons or "targets" of change or opposition, hence they have the face of a target. I chose Gulliver as a character for this painting because of how the masses responded to him in this particular scene in the story. I felt it made a summation of something inherent in people that perhaps should not be. It also reminds me of when I was a kid starting new schools or meeting new people every time I moved, so I guess it's autobiographical.
