Target Headed Cleopatra, painting, Oil on canvas - Ayin Es

About This Artwork: This painting was adapted from the actual Lobby Art in the 1920s film. Poster art of that time not only advertised the film, it advertised what would attract an audience. Much like today it was true romance, adventure, comedy, sex and violence. The difference (in the 1910s and 1920s) was film censorship. The censors were very much in evidence and not every film delivered (or was allowed to deliver) that which tantalized so enticingly on the poster art. A lot of thot went into those movies posters, believe you me. I chose this image because it empowered me somehow.
