About This Artwork: Tet is the 9th letter in the Hebrew alphabet. It is the initial letter for the word tov, meaning good. I made this right after I had the surgery that took away my cervix and womb, hence the stove. The stove actually came to me in dream. It was like many dreams I have that are signals from an unknown force that tells me to make art.

Once I began to draw the cartoony stove, I had a feeling of calm. I was going through a lot of turmoil at the time about the loss of my girl parts, realizing I would never have a baby, but I was suddenly overcome with what good I can give despite all this. Not to sound corny, but it represents a different kind of bun in the oven, so to speak.

It’s painted over an old Thomas Brothers map book page, right over the condo I shared with my ex. The condo I lost along with a slew of major life lessons learned. The entire area of Studio City has a lot of deep connections for me. I remember it all like it was someone else's life.
