About This Artwork: Before the birth of Dan into physical existence, he lived in a parallel universe called Dantasia. This is why Dan will only speak in colors and stripes. It is the closest verbal communication he can fathom to his native land, which doesn't physically even exist, and this is also why he is an existentialist. Even though Dan cannot speak in words, he has many interests, like upside down rainbows, black holes, flowers, and turpentine. He knows he can't exist on Earth without some amount of turpentine.
