The Target Head Series was made a long time ago--I was still in my twenties. I wanted to do a whole series of characters in popular culture, either real or invented, that depicted some distant recognizable effect on society--not necessarily important. Whether they were brooded in admiration or opposition was irrelevant to me as the artist. I was going for what was visually interesting to me and wanted to expand the series much farther than I did. The main interest to me in this was the challenge of capturing the character identities with minimal lines in the face and one eye, and of course the background features and clothes. I decided to end the series at some point and moved on to better things. These pictures are very old, so they're not the best quality.
